Privacy Notice

Last updated: 21 April 2026

This notice explains what personal data tare. collects through this website, how we use it, and the rights you have in relation to that data.

Who we are

tare. is a trading name of Tare Works Ltd, a company registered in Scotland under company number SC885753. Our registered office is at 4 Earls Court, Earls Gate Park, Grangemouth, FK3 8ZE.

We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site. You can contact us at thomas@tare.works.

What we collect

We collect personal data in two ways:

When you contact us directly. If you email us or use the contact links on this site, we receive your name, email address, and whatever information you choose to share. We use this information to respond to your enquiry.

Through basic site analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used. Vercel Analytics is a privacy-first tool that does not use cookies, does not track individuals, and does not collect personal data. It records anonymous aggregate information such as page views, referrers, and country of origin.

We do not use third-party advertising, marketing cookies, social media trackers, or any technology that builds a profile of individual visitors.

How we use it

We use the information you give us to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and communications
  • Maintain a working relationship if we go on to work together
  • Understand how the site is used, so we can improve it
  • Comply with legal obligations where they apply

Legal basis for processing

Where you have contacted us, we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding and maintaining business relationships, or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Where we are required to keep records for tax, accounting, or legal reasons, we process data on the basis of legal obligation.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails and related correspondence for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purpose we collected them, and in line with any legal retention requirements (typically up to six years for records relating to business contracts and tax).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except:

  • Service providers who help us run our business (for example, email hosting, accounting software), under appropriate data protection terms
  • Where we are required to by law or legal process

Where your data is held

Working documents and records relating to our engagements are held in Google Drive and Notion, both of which provide appropriate data protection terms. Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. in the United States, under Standard Contractual Clauses that provide adequate protection under UK GDPR. Vercel Analytics data is processed by Vercel under the same arrangements.

Cookies

We keep this site as light as possible. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or social media cookies.

As noted above, Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not track individuals. Our host (Vercel) may set a small number of technical cookies required to deliver the site and keep it secure. These do not track you or collect personal information.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; guidance is available at aboutcookies.org. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the site functions.

If we add any technology that uses cookies in future, we'll update this notice and, where necessary, ask for your consent before they are set.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Object to or restrict how we use your data
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we have mishandled your data

To exercise any of these rights, please email thomas@tare.works. You can also contact the ICO directly at ico.org.uk.

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on the site.
